Greetings and Merry Christmas

>> Wednesday, 24 December 2008

I know whether to add anything to this blog because been busy with working and have little time doing anything creative. At the moment I'm addicted to beads because whenever out and about always pick a bagful of beads. Unfortunately, after 3rd January I'll be made redundant which can be good thing because have more free time to creative. Yes, but spent most of this year on temp. The current one working on concession stall for Woolworths was my only permanent so far. Back to The Mall and long hours even less of a free time.
Finally have a day off I'm working on Boxing day hopefully until Monday, they keep add extra shifts on my timetable through December it's like no energy or time to do anything. Keeping to my promise I will update this blog at weekly up to my holiday on 25th January. Whenever it is busy there are lot of rude people, huh christmas shopping is stressful especially when you been stuck in the queues near The Mall and this was on Monday. There some who like to jingle their cheap, crappy, slave labour made bracelet or say random rude words. All my jewellery I make myself because get to choose any beads, charms and finishing even if I do buy jewellery always end up taking the whole thing part to get at the beads or charms. Wheh there is time I'll show the current finished project. Also keeping the free beading patterns on hold because I want to add more to folder. It turns out the beads and button website you have to register to get access to free projects and patterns, on the register form they ask for your address. No thanks better to buy the magazine which I do anyway. In meantime I stumbled across a wonderful beading blog, have a look at the link there are free projects and techniques. Right angle weave and Herringbone are only two techniques I haven't tried it mostly like doing is peyote which is time consuming but the results are great. All this overtime is stressing me out I wish some people in my household would help me out sometimes anyway have a nice christmas, get loads and receive wonderful presents. For me it would be enjoy while it last.

Time, is what I'm lacking right now

I have been working for 5 days on stop since the last post and find no matter how I try to make some time it ends up taken up by work. These extra shifts, found out last week they messed up on the payroll and didn't add the extra 3hrs overtime. Despite the aches and pain I'm suffering, freezing cold and being unable to do anything creative for 3 full weeks I'm still in the Christmas mood. This festival is superimposed over a Pagan festival of Yule, much of tradition came were added over time until it resembles the tackiness of modern times. Fir trees came from Norway, every year the Norwegians give a tree to us. These crackers were invented in England by a Confectioner, Santa Claus did derive from St Nicholas (more details on this link.) As far being a celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ, most people use it as an excuse to get drunk and popularity contest on who gets the most presents. The saying goes it's in the giving we receive.
With all the news of Credit Crunch and recession, this festival season should be a time when we sound forget all our problems, have peace and be cheerful.
As far as anything creative wise I managed to do something with beads. The top bracelet is the one brought from one the jewellery in Corn St. I restrung the whole thing because the unsightly tails, then some beads were lost but managed to replace them with swarovski bicones and metall perlen (metal beads) the large central bead had elements which glow in the dark. The middle bracelet is composed off vibrant 'rubber ball' and Size 6 stripe rocailles. Those findings are a pain attach to cord using a second pliers for support helped a lot. The third I created a long time ago and restrung the whole thing on beading wire 28 gauge, its composed of Indian silver beads and batik stone. The shop were I brought them from closed ages ago, the place where it once stood is now full of restaurant and bars. A lot of beads I once have are gone now like Ghana powered glass tubes which made using grind up glass bottles and heated. They were obtained I think it was trade fair in Milton Keynes and still pondering over sapphire and ruby Czech firepolish beads. Well, Beadaddict don't sell them before but they stock a wide range of Swarovski, Murano and various other wonderful beads which are not found in other site I visited such as Creative Beadcraft, Beadsunlimited and Stitchncraft. (all uk based)
I'd always love beads like everything else only the nicest will do, especially glass ones look candy. Time wise it a struggle to do anything, being stuck on evening shift is enough piss anyone off. There's mini plush kit which is left idle, last Saturday I was told to create a card for my cousin. With the help of my nice sister this was possible.
This isn't work more like more slave labour, those bastards added another day this week so will be lucky to do anything.

Sunshine in Winter

>> Wednesday, 10 December 2008

So far this month the weather has been sunny but still it is very cold and can be felt around 3.00 when the day darkens. I don't know if it's a mixture of PMT or insomnia I have been feel very irritable lately. Well, last week I haven't been able to do anything creative, there projects racing inside my head and can't do them due to lack of time. Built up creative energy becomes stagnant, the whole notion of time has been an issue even more horrible when I get called up to work extra hours but the days ends quicker.
Things I would like to do are beading and making plushies, at the moment I'm currently waiting for beading supplies from Creative Beadcraft because Hobbycraft's products are expensive, their prices are rip off. A plain Sterling Silver cost me toggle £5+ when online the maximum price is only £4.45 and this is ornate toggle. I'm going to refund the toggle besides ordering online is much cheaper yet delivery dates can take a week even on domestic mail.

I brought the Japanese Original Gothic and Lolita Bible from YesAsia because grew bored of waiting for the American version Vol2. Normally books take 21 days for delivery, This issue Boudoir only took 2 weeks to arrive her and didn't have to worry about Customs Fees. For gifts it's up to £18.00 but may have changes since Royal Mail was making changes after December 1st. The Gothic and Lolita Bible Boudoir is collection of material from 1998-2008 as with all these Bibles they come with patterns to make clothes and accessories also with stickers.

Alice in Wonderland stickers, Particular Angelic Pretty sell similar themed clothes. I prefer h.Naoto Blood, Anarchy(f0r Punk style), Atelier-Boz for EGL and maybe Mana's brand Moi Meme Moitie . You still can't Gothic Lolita clothes in the Uk but some shop similar gothic items. Back to Mook (magazine and book), it's more detailed and spread out than the Tokyo Pop, much of it is in Japanese, I can make out some of Kanji (Japanese Chinese ideograms). Need to learn and build my Japanese Vocbulary to get the gist of it. There's review on easily obtainable products such as Alchemy Gothic (any Goth shop sell these jewellery), Bourjois (they have Tokyo Bar range and have makeup with mobile phone straps), erm Intimately Beckham (I guess the Editors feature products they do like). Actually since obtaining the Tokyo Pop Gothic and Lolita Bible Vol1 has made me interested in fashion personally don't give a damn with Labels never interest me. These Lolita wear lovely dresses (ignoring the sweet, doll type).

Great News, I heard on the next visit to Hong Kong (not in Jan but some time in the future) there's a one day trip to Japan. One day! How about a week or 2. All my cousin has been to Japan why not us. I know where I what to go, hint hint. In the meantime, heard we are going to Macau why there? What is there is see. Google will tell me. On saturday there was the Christmas Party, I didn't go in the end, those people have really pissed me off, if it was well organised I could of went plus on top of all that 2 people phone in sick, so only me and another person to tidy the whole place. They have got me working on evenings, Xmas eve and Boxing day.
I'm feeling happier now, maybe blogging helps to release negativity out, I find on some quiet moments and when creative work those buried bad thoughts come back. The could of beens, regrets and failures.

Tickerbell says one happy thought can make you fly, one happy thought can lift your spirit for the rest of the day.

Season of discontent

>> Thursday, 4 December 2008

Psychos and violence never take a day off in the news and the paper there always a murder or a horrid assault. Why do these cold hearted monsters exist? They treat animals and children bad, with all the issues concerning Baby P. Some people who planned the kidnap of their own child to cash in the reward money. Money is too tight to mention and the Pound is slowly losing its value against the American Dollar, buying good is import is no no erm at least for this year.
I managed to acquire a new sewing machine- Brother LS 2125 due a special offer of £69.99, you can't get lower this price or else it be one those machine with no reverse, button stitch and only running stitch. Even a kid's version cost loads, found our Brother happens to be a Japanese brand. I can't help buying Japanese goods it has become welded into my sub-consciousness.

I was creating a Punky Santa's hat to wear on the coming Christmas Party (if ever), the cat's ears were last minute alteration because I'm influence by Hangry an Angry range and now have something to submit to Skull a day Blog. Can't actually see without my glasses this is why I'm not looking directly at the camera. Picture was taken by my 'nice' sister.
The only Christmas card made this year, this is for my friend who is now in Australia. He has found a new home and taken in lots of pets- a few dogs and a cat. I actually want a rat either that or a scorpion.

Now back to what I loved doing which is collaging. Composed of several bus tickets on piece of paper sent by Mailartist Samuel Montavetti, I was trying to avoid English text but the clipping I kept had important thought provoking meaning. The mini collages are simple each images are carefully placed and trying to avoid over collaging. He gave some cards to add and return. I know enough Spanish to try to make sense of all plus there is the Babelfish.
Rant time: My other 'horrible, stuck up, holier than thou' sister is giving me grieve again. I tolf her about a ring doughnut. Evil people see the hole and Good people see the ring (and all), she told me I was evil which is face as this is steroetyping Goths once again. In reality, I'm neutral and don't choose sides because nobody is on my side. The Lord of Ring option is handy in these situations. She keeps bring her 'friend' or pet dog along and he bores me with stuff I don't find interesting such as if I had watched Titan AD, Aliens destroying the Earth is nothing new as get enough of that crap from watching Dr Who. She asked this most retarded question ever, is St Nicolaus a saint? Not even going to answer this one, even a 3 year old will know.
I brought the Pop up Dalek book only to find the most of it is already made so can't share it with those losers at 4chan /po. I haven't made a paper model for a while been preoccupied with Gothic Lolita sewing. There's this new girl at work and she gives me dirty looks for no reason, bitch! what her problem. Stuck up chavvy tramps are plain scum. Come Next Year I might be made redundant due the fact the Store might be closed. I'm only working at an concession store for different company it's complicated and only know as much as on the news. So bitterly cold over here at this temperature it's uncomfortable to do anything because your hands become numb. Another day then another week, tomorrow never comes all there is Now.
