My old RPG (Roleplaying Game) project

Yesterday, after being inspired by pixel art blog. I decided to return my old RPG project and it seems the project was on hold for 2 years as the edited chipset is dated 2006. Must stop these long periods of hiatus or nothing will be finished. There 2 other incomplete games floating about in my disks. Making a video game takes ages, as you have to be your own designer, artist and programmer. With RPGmaker no programming knowledge is required but understanding variables help. Here are some screenshot of the work so far.
Originally used RPGmaker 2000 but imported into 2003 for more wider scope. Possible to create rage based skills like in Final Fantasy 7. One problem some of the maps - chipset were the default one in old program but not the new as a result may areas were displayed as black.
I will have to redraw the maps and edit the chipsets.
It was my intention to release a demo of beginning stages of the game, with a RPG there are side quest not related to story or help the character later on. More was added until no progress with the story was made. So I'm editing the story mainly focusing on first stage.
The one thing about RPGmaker 2003 is the side battles, except images will be required for the battle animation. Armed with tips on pixel art the drawing process should be easier. I usually create my characters using charas-project.net or edit in Paintshop Pro. At the the time there was only one tutorial of pixel art and this was from Computer Arts site, they assume you have knowledge of the basics. Well I don't and was a struggle at University. I have chosen the wrong course. My game is called: Darklight libra- Shadow of blood (previous title was Enter the Darkness Within),

About a Mutant Vampire who encounters some higher beings called Toniels who command him to arrest some rebel angels, but first he has to collect warriors for his team. They are a Templar in training, an Avatar who used to be an Goddess and Demon Lord whose ancestors used to angels. The Toniels have a hidden agenda and he has faced inner demons of his own.

Thinking of working on another game using RPGmaker XP, a weird love story based on to unlikely characters or could be stand alone. I written about them about, have look at the other posts. No plans to immediately jump in production of this game or others as plot needs to be revised and files needs to be sorted.
