A strange looking pigeon flew into the garden and wanted a drink of water. I have never seen this type of pigeon before because there was feathers on its feet and distinctive white patched on tail and head.It was drinking from a puddle of water emptied from a cooking pot. A bowl of cool water was given to the bird instead.
Such lovely yellow eyes which looked at you. I have only seen chickens with feathers in their feet. Would be difficult to keep clean.
The pigeon only stayed for 3 days before it finally vanished. Wikipedia review this breed is known as the West of England Tumbler and developed in Bristol (of all places). Weird breeds are only found in Fanciers. Magnificent and beautiful far more pretty than the scruffy urban ones in town. We have a the residential Wood pigeons and the occasional Collared Dove, seeing something different makes a change.
