Carved eraser stamps and the use of words.

>> Friday, 25 September 2009

All this week I have been hooked in making my own stamps by carving eraser, in England we call them rubbers because they are used to rub out pencil marks and sometimes ink. However, in America rubber is name for condom and so instead eraser is used. There another word they use a lot is fag (mostly in 4chan network, never go there are full of trolls, retards and losers who have nothing better to do than post idiotic messages) which stands for faggot basically a homosexual. The use is this word is lame and ignorant just as bad as being a racist. Besides here in the UK a faggot is large meat ball and fag is slang for a cigarette. There are other things I could argue with but not even worth my time. Time is precious and besides there is backlog to clear.
As you can see from above these atcs are created with carved erasers and coloured with Whispers Strokes brush markers. Can be hard to get dense impress but colouring over the inked area with a light shade it makes the image seem darker. Even though I have lots of rubber stamps still prefer the look of these stamps because love the handmade look similar to Lino print.
I was acquiring lot of eraser to carve in order to make stamps. They come in many size, shape and colour but never the 'right one'. I'm looking for large rectanglewhite plastic eraser but ended up with circles, tiny triangles (one place on pencil ends), tiny rectangles and even a cylinder. I found one those 'For big mistakes' which came part of a set it measures about 10 by 4. I'm splitting these in smaller pieces for borders. Wasted 2 pieces trying to carve a hamster.
Even the smallest piece can be carved. These were made in this week but didn't make anymore on Wednesday though. I use small blade craft knife and V-scoop Lino cutter and using the tracing paper transfer technique fine details can be achieved. In the past I draw directly on the eraser.
Here are few things I brought from Strapya-world mainly mobile phone charms are mini figurines.
You see Hello Kitty every where and there's even a store in London? I thought Hong Kong was bad and now here. This kitty is fast becoming overrated but she is kawaii. I'm looking for Gothic and Lolita or unusual style. Here she is in Gloomy bear cosplay and yes I do have strap of this character. Strapya have mini figures of Dragon Quest dragons so far it seems I'm the only person who brought a few, each pack is blind you may end up with duplicates. Never did manage to get a Slime. The ones in the photo are Dragon Kid and not sure about second, looks like a Minidrak but Katakana says Kodora? I'll come back to this one. The Big Comma roughly says I will make you suffer need second option on this one. This same is similar to Magatama or drop beads and very typical Japanese.
H. Naoto launched another Gothic and Lolita Hello Kitty, she looks dolled up yet had dark Gothic elements. The figure in the foreground is Master dragon- as translated from Katakana masuta doragon. This dragon appears in Dragon Quest Caravan heart as I have found a sprite of it.
During the 3 Sunday my family went up North to visit my cousins for a party, I met up with Ken and he as leaving for Beijing. I forgot to ask him how much Japanese he knows since he was worked in Japan or even mention that I know some of the language myself. My other sister told my cousins that I watch Japanese tv programmes. So what, I'm not really into the violent slasher movies because Chinese Historical fiction is more my interest not just the Three Kingdom story. Also very glad that 'leech' won't come here again, he into Kung fu (boring)and think he some 'big' expert like that guy in the film- Forbidden Kingdom.

Living in both Western and Eastern cultures means can marry or choose elements of both.

Their names are Roger and Rafa? Aren't those tennis players? xD

Well, thanks for wishing me luck for my exams. Frankly, I'm gonna need more than luck, perhaps a giant miracle.

Have fun playing Dissidia!
