Gifts I acquired while on holiday in Hong Kong

>> Thursday, 11 March 2010

This is like the second part to previous post. I managed to buy an Energizer rechargeable charger and batteries even though they are high capacity ones my Lumicron digital camera still only allows 5-8 minutes of photography time before it cuts out. It takes 3.3 volts while 2 AA are only 3volts combined, I normally use my sister's Kodak digital even so the date and time reset itself. I need to some how search for a 3.3V adaptor. Here are some of things I brought on holiday.

In Hong Kong there are a lot of stores which sell Japanese and American food, I heard in Tai Po and Happy Valley there's a shop called Americome selling American products. I prefer Japanese products though, Pockys are now widely available in the UK, Tesco import them from Malaysia. First started Meltykiss in 2006, they small square blocks of chocolate lightly dusted with cocoa powder and produced by Meiji. At the moment I'm boycotting all Kraft products and my favourite Oreos happen to one of their produce. The reason is Kraft took over the Cadbury's Chocolate factory in Keynsham with the promise they keep it open and now they have gone back on their word and closed the factory all the work force redundant. If you love Cadbury's chocolate boycott Kraft until the investigation has been finished. As for the Cocoa biscuits(it says so in the katakana) I brought them in Muji Japanese store in Apm shopping mall, Kwun Tong, they are nearest to Oreos.

I found these in Japanese Home store, Uptown Plaza Tai Po Market.

The Honey bear strap is capsule toy from Gashapon vending machines outside Chronicle(千年店) gift shop in Uptown Plaza, Tai Po market. The other strap is a Jade Ram my animal sign a and only cost $10 HKD I brought a few for my family. Other things I have brought are lot of Kawaii Sanrio stickers, VCDs of Japanese animation films- Bleach the movies, Memories of nobody, Resident Evil-Regeneration and Onimusha-Dawn of Dreams all are either in Japanese, Cantonese and English. I wasn't interested in buying VCDs because don't know any good Chinese films and haven't checked any on Yesasia. Best to avoid DVDs as Hong Kong is region 3 and the UK is region2 unless you are watching on the computer. Other goods are Japanese paper clay I didn't find of well known brands like Cosmos or Grace but Mousse chan and craypas for making cup cakes, biscuits and all things sweet which can't be eaten. I found an unofficial Kuromi plush in Ladies Market in Mong Kok and never managed to buy a Hangry/Angry doll because Causeway Bay is too far away and need to change at 3 stops. Kuromi merchandise is hard to find there's all that sickly Hello Kitty crap. There's other stuff which can be found in photo stream which will updated shortly that is if I'm not distracted by something else.
